The Player Assistant position is responsible for assisting professional staff and managers with golf course and practice facility day-to-day outside operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor safety of golf patrons.
  2. Verify payment of appropriate fees.
  3. Inform groups of policies.
  4. Monitor and record group’s starting time.
  5. Record cart number if applicable.
  6. Maintain water coolers, restrooms, and overall course cleanliness.
  7. Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.
  8. Enforce Pace of Play policies.
  9. Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances.
  10. Assist other outside staff with special duties assigned by the professional staff or manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (i.e., professional ability to promptly and enthusiastically attend to customer needs).
  • Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed.
  • Ability to record applicable information.
  • Ability to learn golf etiquette.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team based environment.

Education and Experience:

  • CPR and AED certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Special Considerations:

  • Subject to modified/flexible work schedule during high volume work periods.
  • Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions
  • Ability to lift light to medium weight (20-50 lbs.) objects.
  • Occasional exposure to pesticides and exhaust fumes.
  • Must be able to ambulate through the grounds of an 18 hole golf course.
